How to Use Phospholine Iodide®(echothiophate iodide for ophthalmic solution) Icon printer print

  1. Wash your hands thoroughly.
  2. Pull the small white cap to remove it from the dropper.
    Do not throw the white cap away.
  3. Do not let the Phospholine Iodide dropper touch your eyelids or any other surfaces.
  4. Tilt your head back. Pull down your lower eyelid with a clean finger to form a pocket and look up. Place one drop into the pocket by gently squeezing the dropper (Figure A).
  5. Close your eye and lightly press the inside corner of the eye with your index finger for 1 to 2 minutes (Figure B).
  6. If you have been instructed by your health care provider to use drops in both eyes, repeat Steps 4 and 5 in second eye. 
  7. Replace the small white cap on the dropper immediately after use. 
  8. Excess solution around the eye should be removed with tissue and wash hands after each use. 
  9. Store upright at room temperature between 68°F to 77°F (20°C to 25°C). Do not refrigerate after opening. Discard any unused solution after 4 weeks.
  10. Keep Phospholine Iodide and all medicines out of the reach of children.
